Meal Prep: Week 51 of 2019

Next week is our last full week of meals! It’s crazy to think that it’s been almost a whole year since we started. But let’s not get too nostalgic just yet.

Y’all ever keep seeing a recipe for something, finally cave in and try it and then it tastes gross? That happened to me this week. I have some protein powder that I need to use up and so I was like, let’s try one of these protein powder pancake/waffle recipes I keep seeing. And well… they didn’t taste great. And it got me thinking, why do we do this to ourselves? Why do we substitute out our normal good full flavor foods for this lesser healthy version of things. Just give me the regular pancakes and I’ll be happy.

Speaking of happy! I made this lovely spinach tortellini dish. I’ve been really drawn to have some nice colors in my food lately. Deep greens and bright reds are not only fun to photograph but they taste good.

Another thing that tastes good are these shrimp burgers from Trader Joes. I love these things. When you want a hearty burger without the bleh and heavy feelings you get from a regular hamburger then this is the way to go!

Pair it with some broccoli (with cheese of course) or french fries. If you haven’t tried these shrimp burgers yet go and get them. They don’t taste too fishy and they are so light and tasty! Go. And. Get. Them.

    I prefer beef….pork….fish. I do not prefer chicken. But let’s be honest, I’ll eat that too. 😂
