Recipe: Cinnamon Sugar Donuts

Fall means more than pumpkin spice flavors of course. One of my favorites of fall is apple cider donuts, but don’t get excited, that’s not what’s happening here. Before I fell in love with apple cider donuts, I fell in love with these very simple Cinnamon Sugar Donuts that my mom used to make. This is a recipe that is easy for kids to make and quick too!

As you can see, all we need to make these donuts are the four ingredients below: a can of biscuits, oil (I used canola, but you can use vegetable oil), cinnamon and sugar.

First: cut holes in the biscuits. I find using the oil lid is the best way to do this. Now you can make both donuts and donut holes!

Next mix your cinnamon and sugar mix to dip the donuts into after you fry them. This part is the best because you get to decide just how much you want of both sugar and cinnamon. If you are feeling adventurous add some nutmeg, some apple pie seasoning or pumpkin pie seasoning.

Then, heat your oil, fry your biscuits. This is like making pancakes, you gotta time it just right and make sure the temperature is perfect. As you can see some of them are lighter than others and some are darker, but that’s okay! Also, leave the frying to the parents, the next part is fun for the kids!

Add your cinnamon sugar mix to a plate and dip/roll/sprinkle the dounts in the mix!

Eat these guys while they are warm! They are SO GOOD! The perfect taste of fall for all!

ENJOY!!
