Restaurant Shenanigans: La Loma

It’s Thursday which means it’s time for a restaurant review! Haris and I were downtown a couple weeks ago for the Schitt’s Creek Up Close & Personal show in Denver. Making a date night of it we decided to head over to La Loma to grab some dinner and drinks.

Since it was a Friday around dinner time, this place was PACKED! Luckily there were a pair of seats at the bar with the full menu available. We snagged some chairs and some drinks while perusing the menu. The margarita above was pretty tasty but I wish it was just a little stronger. Also, side note, the chips and salsa were really good!

Haris opted for the chicken enchiladas smothered in green chili with a side of rice and beans. He enjoyed every bite! And that says a lot. If you live in Denver you know that finding good Mexican food can be hard. Why? Well that’s because Denver is in need of a bit more culture. But I digress.

I grabbed some chicken street tacos. Now I usually opt out of avocado, but there’s just something great about avocado in street tacos. The chicken was nice and moist. Being from Las Vegas, they weren’t the best street tacos I’ve ever had, but they were pretty awesome for Denver. And look, La Loma doesn’t skimp on the garnishes either!

Overall, we really enjoyed this restaurant and plan on going back! I want to try so many other dishes off the menu including the Anniversary Plate and the La Loma Hamburger! Check this place out when you are downtown! And don’t be afraid to sit at the bar when it’s busy!
