It’s a new year, a new decade, and a new chance for people to shove unhealthy goals about food down our throats! The gyms are going to be packed for the next few months and health foods will be all the rage until we all get tired and just want a good old hamburger! We’ve all been there and that’s okay…but let’s mix it up this year.

I started this blog as a way to keep myself accountable for eating out less and trying to eat healthier, but as the first year passed, I realized that what I was actually doing through this blog was letting myself be creative and healing my relationship with food. And as I reflected on where my relationship with food started in 2019 and where it is now, I realized that I really want to help others break free from feeling like they need to be at odds with the food they eat. (Hence this delicious cheesecake pictured below.)

Life’s too short to not eat the cake or enjoy dinner with friends. So this year, let’s set these as our resolutions:
- I will go out to dinner with at least one friend once a month.
- I will make one new recipe (savory or sweet) each month.
- I will not fear food, I will enjoy the moments that come with each bite.
- I will learn about one new cultural food experience this year.
- I will host a dinner for family or friends this year.

The less you restrict yourself, the more enjoyable life becomes. Food is a tool meant to not only nourish us but to also bind us together. If there’s one thing we all have in common, it’s that we need to eat. So why don’t we celebrate that instead of beating ourselves up for it?
And if you have some food fear, seek some help. Follow some awesome people on Instagram, seek out a recovery or food freedom program, or talk with a counselor. It’s okay to ask for help.
I look forward to what this year holds. I have some amazing trips planned and can’t wait to bring you all along on my adventures. And don’t think there won’t be some awesome recipes, restaurant reviews, giveaways and more to come on the blog. Happy New Year- 2020
Love,
Kristina
