Recipes: Bacon Roses- Valentine’s Day

We all have that someone in our life who doesn’t want chocolates or flowers for Valentine’s Day. What do you get this special person in your life?? Bacon Roses…DUH! My roommate Michelle makes these beauties for her boyfriend every Valentine’s Day and wanted to share it with all of you. So here it is!!

Ingredients:

  • Brown Sugar
  • Maple Syrup (or pancake syrup)
  • Thick Cut Bacon
  • Seaweed; Kale; or Tissue Paper
  • Wooden Skewers
  • A jar, vase or container to hold your little bouquet

**Preheat oven to 350 degree- or -cook in an air fryer.**

Step 1: Open that Bacon.

Step 2: Roll each piece of bacon into a little “rose” (see below for reference). You can either fold the pieces in half and roll or cut the pieces in half if they are too long.

Step 3: Stab your roses with a toothpick through the middle. This will help keep it together.

Step 4: Drizzle the syrup over each little rose.

Step 5: Sprinkle some brown sugar on each little rose.

Step 6: If cooking in the oven cook for 30-35 minutes. If cooking in the air fryer cook for 10-15 minutes.

Step 7: Let the roses cool a little and grab your seaweed (kale or tissue paper) and skewers.

Step 8: Cut the skewers to fit the jar or container you are putting your roses in.

Step 9: Cut the seaweed into little squares.

Step 10: Place the rose on the seaweed and poke the skewer through the seaweed and bacon roses. (see picture above.

Step 11: Continue until you have enough roses to make a little bouquet.

Step 12: Give it to your hunny or yourself (because yes, you also deserve bacon roses!)

Step 13: Enjoy!!
