Recipe: French Toast Waffles

Do you ever struggle to figure out if you want french toast or waffles for brunch? Well, why not have both? Here’s a simple recipe to elevate your brunch experience and never make you choose between french toast or waffles again.

Ingredients:

  • Bisquick or your other favorite pancake/waffle mix (and all the ingredients to make a batch)
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tbsp Nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup milk

Now as you see pictured above you can fancy this up all you want. I added chocolate chips and substituted the cinnamon with pumpkin pie spice instead (mainly because I realized after my grocery store trip that I didn’t have cinnamon… no one is perfect, but I try).

Step One: Prepare your waffle mix! Follow the instructions on the box.

Step Two: Heat up your waffle maker. Now if you don’t have one of these bad boys I highly suggest that you invest in one. Spray this guy with cooking spray if needed.

Step Three: Pour your batter on the waffle maker and close unless you are adding any extra items like chocolate chips.

Optional Step: Sprinkle on some chocolate chips before closing the lid and letting those bad boys cook.

Step Five: Whisk together your eggs, spices (nutmeg, cinnamon, etc.), milk, and vanilla together.

Step Six: Remove your waffles from the waffle iron. Let them cool a bit.

Step Seven: Warm up a skillet.

Step Eight: Dip the waffle into the egg and milk mixture. Make sure to get both sides pretty well covered. If you have large waffles, break those waffles into large triangles and dip them in individually.

Step Nine: Place the waffle into the skillet and cook each side for about 2 minutes.

Step Ten: Put on a plate, add some syrup, powdered sugar and enjoy!
